Jean-Pierre Cassigneul (born in 1935)

Jean-Pierre Cassigneul builds a personal work on the fringe of contemporary artistic circles and concerns. Women, gardens in bloom in the heart of summer with saturated colors, the seaside are among the subjects that have most captured his attention. Most of the time alone, in profile, elegantly dressed, wearing a hat, his figures evoke Verlaine's famous verses of this woman "who is, each time, neither quite the same nor quite another"(Poèmes saturniens, 1866).
