Our activities
Sale and purchase ofchat of works of art
The Galerie de l'Institut offers a vast selection of works by the great artists of the 20th century, including Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró and Henri Matisse. Specialized in prints, it offers for sale engravings (etchings, aquatints, monotypes, black manner, etc.) and modern lithographs of high quality, as well as illustrated books, also known as artists' books. The Galerie de l'Institut also presents ceramics, tapestries, sculptures, drawings and paintings by these great artists as well as more confidential ones.
In addition to the sale of modern works, the Galerie de l'Institut buys works from private individuals or professionals, in France and abroad.
Expertise
The Galerie de l'Institut offers its expertise in the field of modern prints and illustrated books. A family business, it relies on the experience of Marc Lebouc, expert at the Paris Court of Appeal, andYves Lebouc, expert at the Compagnie Nationale des Experts. They are mandated by the Marc Chagall Committee to appraise the artist's prints, for which they are authorized to establish a certificate of authenticity. Marc and Yves Lebouc also have the confidence of the Picasso Administration to establish certificates of authenticity for Picasso's prints, a copy of which is systematically deposited for registration with Mr. Claude Picasso, President of the Picasso Administration.
Exhibitions
The Galerie de l'Institut, formerly the Bouquinerie de l'Institut, has always had at heart to present the work of artists to whom it was close, as well as to organize exhibitions of the great names of modern art. Thus, on the walls of its various spaces in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, exhibitions of works by Picasso or Chagall but also by Chu Teh Chun, Pierre Sorlier, Jean-Baptiste Sécheret, Jean Leyris, Roger Mühl or Yuri Kuper, to name but a few, have followed. The publication of a catalog has always accompanied these exhibitions.
