Cassigneul, Jean-Pierre, Toquades, 1991

The color lithograph of a young woman turning towards a twilight horizon in reddish tones is featured on the frontispiece of Françoise Sagan’s book “Toquades”, published in 1991. This composition is imbued with melancholy, recalling the sense of sadness often found in Jean-Pierre Cassigneul’s work. The use of bright, bold colors is a distinctive feature of Jean-Pierre Cassigneul’s paintings. He uses rich, vibrant tones to create visual compositions that capture the viewer’s attention and add depth to his works.

“I met her the other day, and she burst into tears when she realized she’d forgotten me. She also introduced me to my replacement, a big, friendly jerk who, she told me, was so charming with her, that he made her so happy… so happy… that it was too good… too good to last!… I ran away.” [1]
