Le Cocu magnifique is a play written in 1920 by playwright Fernand Crommelynck, father of Aldo, Piero and Milan Crommelynck, engravers and printers, trained in Roger Lacourière's workshop and close collaborators of Picasso from 1963 when they set up their studio in Mougins. Picasso populates the illustration of Le Cocu magnifique with figures from his personal mythology.
