Cassigneul, Jean-Pierre, Screen Les Jardins du Luxembourg, 1984

In 1985, prompted by an original idea from Yves Lebouc, Jean-Pierre Cassigneul created his lithographed screen entitled “Les Jardins du Luxembourg”, measuring 145/194 cm. On these four panels, the artist depicts large lithographs featuring light, elegant and airy female silhouettes that stand out from other female representations of his time. This creation offers a majestic, mysterious impression of a young woman’s nostalgic stroll through a sumptuous garden, occasionally passing other passers-by.

In this composition, the story revolves around a young woman dressed in harmonies of yellow, standing on the lawn and walking her little dog, heading towards a flowerbed. In the background, a dove takes flight, tending to disappear from the composition. In the distance, a woman with a black stroller fades into the background, at odds with the main figure.
