Champ de lavande. Environs de Dieulefit

A native of the Drôme region, Bernard Cathelin draws his inspiration from the region's emblematic landscapes, notably fields of lavender in shades of violet and rapeseed bursting with yellow. These characteristic elements are found in both his paintings and lithographs, where color becomes the common thread of a visual unity marked by the interplay of brilliance and mattness.
