Norvège fond orange

Jean-Baptiste Sécheret

2003

Monotype in colors on orange paper

Titled in pencil lower left, signed and dated by the artist in pencil lower right

"He also sometimes goes off and loses himself in solitary places - the rugged hills of Italy, uninhabited stretches of coastline - and applies himself to capturing the shapes and colors of the earth and sky, the variations of light"(1).

The orange paper adds a rosy hue to the print, conveying the warm luminosity of twilight. This desert landscape reveals the atmosphere of Norway through its shapes, but above all, through its colors.
