A creator of insatiable curiosity, Picasso discovered the linocut technique in 1954 when he met the printer Hidalgo Arnera. From 1958 to 1963, he passionately experimented with this new medium. From this period, Nature morte sous la lampe displays the vibrant colors of the Vauvenargues palette (green, yellow, red).
