Blind Minotaur guided by a little girl in the night is one of the masterpieces of the Suite Vollard and of Picasso’s engraved work. Vulnerable, crippled and guided by a little girl with the features of Marie-Thérèse, the Minotaur takes on a tragic, even pathetic dimension. The work has given rise to a wide range of interpretations, reflecting both Picasso’s private life, which was tumultuous at the time, and the particularly threatening historical context of the time.
