From its original title A très déliée, très menue et très maigre Demoiselle, La Maigre is a text gleaned by Iliazd from a bookseller. The author in 1630 was Guillaume de Vaux, whom Iliazd recognized as Adrian de Monluc. After reading the text, Picasso enthusiastically executed the ten drypoints, completed in mid-April 1951.
