A long-time resident of Mougins, Roger Mühl painted the landscapes of southeastern France extensively, in tune with the seasons and his contemplation of nature. From this canvas emanates the sweltering heat of summer as it descends on the Grasse countryside, the sunlight whitening the olive trees and meadows. The painter pays great attention to luminosity in his perception of reality, which is why some darker areas subtly reveal that under the olive trees, shade may provide a little freshness.
