"These "Theatres of Memory" aim to depict - or rather, to evoke - the cacophonous form in which our perceptions and memories emerge pell-mell in the theater of our thoughts. The aim is to bring together in a tableau scenes and events from different places and times (and in different moods) as they occur in our memory.
