Buffet, Bernard, Le Quai de Suffren et les Yachts (mixed media), 1979
Bernard Buffet created this preparatory gouache for the color lithograph for the album “Saint-Tropez”, featuring text by his wife Annabel, calligraphed by Bernard Buffet and published in 1979. The book is illustrated with 23 color lithographs, including 11 double plates. As with most of his compositions, the network of cross-hatching reinforces the contours by emphasizing the shapes of his subjects.
