Mühl, Roger, Grasse landscape with olive trees, 1992

A long-time resident of Mougins, Roger Mühl spent much of his time painting the landscapes of southeastern France, as the seasons passed and he contemplated nature. From this canvas emanates the sweltering summer heat of the Grasse countryside, with sunlight bleaching the olive trees and meadows. The painter pays great attention to luminosity in his perception of reality, which is why some of the darker areas subtly reveal that under the olive trees, shade may provide a little freshness.
