Miró, Joan, Woman with Jewels, 1968
La Femme aux bijoux (The Jewel Woman), the title of this work, illuminates the viewer, who can make out on the paper the dancing silhouette of a woman adorned with precious stones. The carborundum-textured black contrasts with the emerald-green, topaz-red and sapphire-blue prints, which echo each other. The shades of the background evoke the hues of a stone on which a prehistoric painting has been applied.
