Il ne peint pas un bouquet de fleurs, une femme, un paysage ; il marie des couleurs et des tons selon des accords de forts contrastes ou de proximité. Dans ses lithographies, il cherche à donner à ses couleurs une densité de matière semblable à celle qui caractérise sa peinture.
