Picasso produced the series of 347 etchings between March 16 and October 5, 1968. The complete set was presented at Galerie Louise Leiris in December of the same year under the title “347 gravures”, which gave the series its title. Iconographically, Picasso brought together the themes that were dear to him, giving the whole the tone of a life journal.
