Sécheret, Jean-Baptiste, Boxes and Funnels, 1986

This black-and-white composition is hyper-realistic, despite the absence of color and the visibility of certain features. Jean-Baptiste Sécheret has succeeded in retranscribing the lustrous material of the metal, which becomes reflective in the slightest ray of light. With lighter or darker shades of black and finer or finer strokes, he allows the viewer to discern the various elements of the composition: mirror, box, table and reflection.
