About the author

Bernard Cathelin (1919- 2004)

Color is at the heart of Bernard Cathelin’s work. It is even the main subject. He doesn’t paint a bouquet of flowers, a woman or a landscape; he marries colors and tones according to strong contrasts or proximity. In his lithographs, he seeks to give his colors a density of material similar to that which characterizes his painting.
