Jean Leyris surprises with his use of different degrees of relief in the same sculpture. He often chooses subjects traditionally reserved for painting, such as still lifes, and transposes them into bas-relief. This approach allows us to rediscover classic themes from a new angle, exploiting the texture and depth that only sculpture can offer. <\/p>\n
Leyris’ artichoke sculpture, for example, combines realism and creativity. It shows a table with a plate containing three artichokes, while a fourth rests directly on the table.
