Since the early 20th century, many artists have frequented the area, including Paul Signac, Henri Matisse and Pierre Bonnard. For Bernard Buffet, Saint-Tropez became more than just a source of inspiration: in 1958, he met the woman he was to become his wife. <\/span>the same year he married Annabel Schwob.<\/span><\/h2>\n
<\/span><\/h2>\n
Twenty years later, the book Saint-Tropez<\/em>, illustrated with 23 original color lithographs, with a text by Annabel calligraphed by Bernard Buffet, was published. The exhibition features several preparatory gouaches for the lithographs, created especially for the book. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
